Read on to see what some current and former students have to say about studying Spanish with Laura's Lessons!

"Laura's great - she knows what she's doing, has lots of resources, and can teach a generalized Spanish that can be used anywhere from Spain to Central and South America!"

Claire S.

"Currently taking weekly Spanish lessons with Laura and her knowledge of the language and ability to teach make for a great learning experience. I can notice an improvement in my Spanish and am looking forward to continuing classes!"

"Wonderful Spanish Instructor! I began seeing Laura in January 2017 after a 10+ year gap in Spanish lessons. Laura created a custom lesson plan for me that is a good mix of getting back to where I left off while also incorporating more challenging concepts so I can advance. We work together setting reasonable weekly goals for me to focus on and Laura is adept at adjusting the day's lesson plan on the fly if there's a past topic I'd like to review again or if I have questions about a topic that wasn't necessarily on the agenda for the day. I also feel like I receive nice variety from this instructor. It's not all reading from a textbook and filling out worksheets. We have real conversations following the lesson, and some days we'll switch things up and play fun Spanish word games or we'll read from authentic texts so I can practice pronunciation. Laura's command of the language and cultural familiarity is very apparent, and I enjoy the way she presents her lessons in an approachable and fun way. Finally, there have been days when I was running late or weeks I needed to skip and rearrange my lesson. Laura is flexible and has always made it work for me which I appreciate. After five months, I do feel more confident in my Spanish pronunciation, recall of nouns and verb conjugation. Most importantly, I'm also more engaged in learning Spanish than I've ever been before. Long story short: I would like to continue taking Spanish with Laura as long as I can. Not to mention she is also a good human being and someone I genuinely enjoy visiting with and learning from each week. If you are considering taking Spanish back up, or if you're learning for the first time, I highly endorse Laura and think you should give her a try!"

"She provides a very comprehensive approach to learning the language. She is smart and kind."

Joseph B.

"This is on going but I love learning Spanish with Laura. She is very knowledgeable about how language works and its history. She easily breaks grammar and pronunciation down for me to learn it well. I look forward to continuing my lessons with her."

"I started taking lessons with Laura to resume my Spanish studies after a 6 year gap and to improve my Spanish conversation skills for travel purposes. I have benefited from her teaching style and learning approach greatly. Each lesson is focused on areas which I struggle and she incorporates reading, writing, and communication into each lesson. Nevertheless, success is still directly proportional to the time and effort I put into each lesson after class, however Laura has provided me with the resources and instruction necessary to learn the language. In the 6 or 7 classes I have had with her already my skills have improved, and I look forward to continue to study with her and advance my Spanish conversation skills over the coming year."

"Laura does a great job engaging with you in her lessons. She keeps it interesting and fun, and adjusts her pace to match your ability."

Alex C.

"I think Laura has a very interesting insight about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language. Money spent with Laura will produce results."

James O.

"Laura has been helping me improve on my limited Spanish for about six weeks now, twice a week. My intent is to learn how to hold a better, more complete, conversation as I'm going to Mexico for the winter. We have been meeting at her home.

Laura has been creative in her approach, as we go from reading to conversation to word games to reviewing proper grammar. Every one hour lesson has invariably turned into at least 1-1/2 hours as Laura gets caught up in really trying to help me improve with the words and phrases that I'll be using on a daily basis.

Laura is patient and knowledgable, and I'm sure that after another 6-8 weeks (for myself, learning a foreign language requires lots of time and persistence) my experience this winter will be much more rewarding and fun."
